These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and the operator of Chrona City ("Chrona," "we," "us," or "our") and govern access to and use of chrona.city and its accounts, multiplayer world, Doors, profiles, project-publishing tools, and related features (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Service only with permission from a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. You may not use the Service where prohibited by law or if you are barred from receiving it under applicable United States trade or sanctions laws.
2. Accounts and Security
You can browse portions of the Service as a guest. Creating Doors and using creator features requires an account created through a one-time code sent to your email. You are responsible for providing an email address you control, maintaining the security of your email account and sessions, and all activity under your account.
Do not share authentication codes or session credentials. Door publisher tokens may be shared only with creators you authorize; anyone holding a valid token can publish to that Door. You are responsible for token activity. Rotate or revoke a token immediately if it is lost, exposed, or no longer needed.
Notify us promptly if you believe an account, session, or token has been compromised. We may require verification before assisting with an account or content request.
3. The Service and Our License to You
Chrona City is an evolving virtual-city and creator platform. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for lawful purposes through supported interfaces.
The Service, excluding User Content and separately licensed third-party materials, is owned by Chrona or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the Service, software, names, designs, or trademarks. Open-source and open-data components remain subject to their respective licenses and notices.
Features, limits, availability, and supported formats may change. We do not promise that the Service or any particular Door, project, room, address, or city asset will remain available permanently.
4. User Content
"User Content" includes profile information, avatars, Door records, media, code, static projects, links, text, and other material you submit or publish. You retain the ownership rights you have in your User Content.
You grant Chrona a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license, with the right to sublicense to service providers, to host, store, cache, reproduce, format, transmit, display, and distribute your User Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service and make your chosen public features available. This license ends when the content is deleted from active systems, except for reasonable backup, cache, security, legal, and previously completed service operations.
You represent that you own or have all permissions necessary for your User Content, including code, music, images, video, fonts, trademarks, likenesses, personal information, and linked material, and that our permitted use will not violate another person's rights or any law.
User Content is not confidential. Public Door media, project source files and assets, destination URLs, avatars, display names, and multiplayer presence may be accessible to other users or anyone with the public URL. Others may copy public content outside our control. Keep your own backups and do not upload secrets or private files.
5. Doors, External Links, and Creator Projects
You may configure only Doors you are authorized to control and must follow ownership, file-size, file-count, path, content-type, and security restrictions shown in the Service.
External Door destinations must use HTTPS and may be unavailable, refuse embedding, or require opening in a new tab. Chrona does not operate, endorse, or guarantee third-party destinations.
Uploaded projects may contain executable HTML, JavaScript, WebAssembly, media, and 3D assets. They run in a restricted browser frame, but sandboxing is risk reduction—not a guarantee of safety.
Creators are solely responsible for project behavior, dependencies, disclosures, user support, advertising, offers, transactions, and compliance with law. Chrona is not a party to transactions between creators and visitors.
Visitors choose whether to enter or open a Door and do so at their own risk. Third-party terms and policies may apply.
6. Multiplayer Features
Multiplayer rooms transmit display names, character state, and in-world position and movement to the room authority and other participants. You must not harass, threaten, stalk, impersonate, cheat, manipulate movement or identity state, disrupt rooms, evade enforcement, or interfere with another user's experience.
7. Acceptable Use
You may not use the Service to:
violate law or another person's intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other rights;
upload or promote child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate content, exploitation, credible threats, hateful abuse, harassment, stalking, or doxxing;
impersonate others, deceive users, phish for credentials, distribute spam, conduct fraud, or misrepresent affiliation or endorsement;
introduce malware, destructive code, unauthorized cryptocurrency mining, credential theft, hidden tracking, or code intended to escape a sandbox or access private networks;
probe, attack, overload, scrape at abusive rates, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to accounts, tokens, systems, rooms, APIs, storage, or data;
use another person's account, email, content, Door, or publisher token without authorization; or
use the Service in a way that creates unreasonable risk or materially interferes with the Service or its users.
8. Content Review and Enforcement
We may, but are not obligated to, monitor or review User Content. We may remove or restrict content, hide or delete Doors, revoke publisher tokens, limit features, preserve evidence, or suspend or terminate access when we reasonably believe it is necessary to enforce these Terms, comply with law, protect users or systems, or address risk. We may cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.
To report content or conduct, email pengpeng1366@gmail.com with the relevant URL, Door identifier, description, and supporting information. Do not interact with suspected malicious content more than necessary to identify it.
9. Copyright and Intellectual-Property Complaints
If you believe material on the Service infringes your rights, send a notice to pengpeng1366@gmail.com identifying the protected work, the allegedly infringing material and its location, your contact information, a good-faith statement, a statement that your information is accurate and that you are authorized to act, and your physical or electronic signature. We may remove material and may terminate repeat infringers where appropriate.
10. Third-Party Services, Open Data, and Maps
The Service relies on third-party infrastructure and includes open-source software and public datasets. Separate terms and licenses may apply. See our Third-Party Notices.
The San Francisco environment and address locator are an artistic, data-derived virtual representation. Buildings, terrain, addresses, arrival points, and labels may be incomplete, outdated, generalized, or inaccurate. The Service is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google, the City and County of San Francisco, DataSF, USGS, Mapzen, or other data providers unless expressly stated.
Do not use the Service for navigation, surveying, property boundaries, emergency response, accessibility, aviation, construction, safety-critical decisions, or any purpose requiring authoritative location data.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. By using the Service, you acknowledge those practices.
12. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Chrona and its suppliers disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and warranties arising from course of dealing or usage.
We do not warrant that the Service, User Content, Doors, links, projects, multiplayer state, maps, or location results will be accurate, safe, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, free of harmful components, or preserved without loss. You are responsible for backups and for evaluating content before opening or using it.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some exclusions may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable consumer rights.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chrona and its affiliates, suppliers, licensors, and personnel will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, goodwill, data, content, or use, arising from or related to the Service, even if advised of the possibility.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total aggregate liability of Chrona and those parties for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) amounts you paid to Chrona for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or (b) US $100.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
14. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Chrona and its affiliates, suppliers, licensors, and personnel from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, judgments, and reasonable costs arising from your User Content, Door or project, use or misuse of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another person's rights.
15. Suspension, Termination, and Service Changes
You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your own Doors or remove profile content through available controls. Contact us to request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate access or discontinue features for enforcement, legal, security, operational, or business reasons. Termination may disable sessions, tokens, projects, or content access.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, content licenses needed for retained copies, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and general terms—will survive.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service or law changes. We will post the revised Terms and update the date above. For material changes, we may provide additional notice. Continued use after the effective date of revised Terms means you accept them; if you do not agree, stop using the Service.
17. Disputes and Applicable Law
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. These Terms and any dispute are governed by applicable law, including any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you. Any court proceeding must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief or using an available small-claims process.
18. General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Chrona concerning the Service unless separate written terms apply. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will remain effective. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganization, financing, merger, sale, or transfer of the Service. Headings are for convenience only.
19. Contact
Questions about these Terms may be sent to pengpeng1366@gmail.com. Please do not send passwords, one-time codes, Door publisher tokens, or other secrets.
